Shalom commemorating the 21th anniversary of the state and decicated to those who lost their lives in the struggle for independence. It was a year of hope for Peace between the State of Israel and the Arab countries.

Obverse: The coin displays the word Shalom in Hewbrew in the centre of the coin. The denomination 10 Lirot around the rim  with the date  1969/5729 in English and Hewbrew.

Reverse: The inscription in the center of the coin,   But No Man Knoweth His Place of Burial (Deuteronomy, 34:6). The words are positioned to resemble the battlefield monument of the Unknown Soldier. An olive branch with an army helmet in the background at the lower right.
